Troops Eliminate Mastermind Behind NDA, Yauri, and Greenfield Attacks in Ambush

Troops from the 1 Division Headquarters have neutralized the notorious bandit kingpin, Boderi, believed to be the mastermind behind the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), Kaduna, Yauri school girls’ abduction, and the Greenfield University attacks.

According to Major General Onyema Nwachukwu, the Army spokesperson, Boderi and another bandit chief, Bodejo, were killed in an ambush. He stated, “Intelligence sources report that Boderi orchestrated many high-profile kidnappings, including the Yauri school girls, Greenfield University, and Nigerian Defence Academy attacks.”

During the operation along the Bada – Riyawa axis on the Kaduna – Birnin Gwari Road, insurgents used rustled herds of cattle as shields, opening fire on the troops. The troops responded promptly, resulting in an hour-long firefight, during which two insurgents were neutralized. Recovered items included weapons, a Techno phone, keys, substances suspected to be marijuana, tramadol tablets, and cash.

In a separate operation on February 21, 2024, troops ambushed insurgents along the same axis, neutralizing six insurgents and recovering weapons and destroyed motorcycles.

Troops are actively pursuing fleeing insurgents, demonstrating their commitment to eradicating armed violence in the area.
