Nigerian Army Issues Fresh Warning to Okuama Community Following Killing of Soldiers
In response to the recent killing of soldiers in Delta state, the Nigerian Army has issued a stern warning to the Okuama community, urging them to prepare to face legal consequences.
The soldiers were reportedly on a peaceful mission to mediate a communal clash between Okuama and Okoloba communities when they were ambushed and murdered. Major-General Onyema Nwachukwu, the Director of Army Public Relations, condemned the act as despicable and called for widespread condemnation.
In a statement, the Army accused the Okuama community of resorting to propaganda instead of cooperating with authorities to identify the perpetrators. The statement highlighted the brutal nature of the attack, describing it as orchestrated by armed youth gangs within the community.
Despite attempts by the community to justify the attack through misinformation, the Army remains steadfast in its pursuit of justice. The Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen Toareed Lagbaja, has vowed to leave no stone unturned until the perpetrators are apprehended and brought to justice.
While assuring the public that there will be no reprisal attacks, the Army has intensified efforts to identify and apprehend the criminals responsible for the heinous act. The message to the perpetrators is clear: there is no hiding place, and they will face the full force of the law.
