Liam Rosenior confirms verbal agreement to become Chelsea manager
Strasbourg head coach Liam Rosenior has confirmed that he has reached a verbal agreement to take over as Chelsea manager, following the departure of Enzo Maresca on New Year’s Day.
Speaking at a press conference in Strasbourg on January 6, Rosenior said a contract has not yet been signed but that all terms have been agreed with Chelsea.
“I haven’t signed yet, but I have agreed verbally with Chelsea. It’s important that nobody makes a statement before a contract is signed,” Rosenior said.
The 41-year-old also paid tribute to Strasbourg, where he has spent the past 18 months. He described his time at the club as the best period of his professional career.
The move has been made easier by the shared ownership structure, with both Strasbourg and Chelsea owned by BlueCo.
Chelsea have not yet issued an official confirmation of Rosenior’s appointment.
