I’ll Return to Nigeria to Assist in MohBad’s Death Investigation – Naira Marley

In a new development surrounding the mysterious death of former Marlian Records signee, Mohbad, Naira Marley, the head of Marlian Records, has announced his intention to return to Nigeria to assist in the ongoing investigation into the tragic incident.

Mohbad, whose untimely demise shocked the nation, was laid to rest on September 13. Naira Marley has found himself among the individuals of interest connected to the investigation into the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s death.

Naira Marley, who has been abroad since August 31, 2023, made this revelation through a comprehensive statement posted on his Instagram account on Tuesday evening. In this statement, he affirmed his willingness to cooperate fully with law enforcement and provide his perspective on the events leading to Mohbad’s passing.

“I have no hand in Mohbad’s death,” Naira Marley insisted. “I certainly have no reason to be a fugitive.”

In his statement, Naira Marley expressed profound grief over the loss of Mohbad, whom he regarded as a brother and member of their musical family. He debunked the sensationalized stories and threats against him, asserting that the nature of their disagreements never reached the extreme levels being portrayed.

The artist, who had refrained from public statements to avoid interfering with the government’s investigation, acknowledged the tragic nature of Mohbad’s death. He categorically denied any involvement in it, whether directly or indirectly.

Naira Marley also revealed that he had been cooperating with the police’s invitation and was actively making arrangements to return to Nigeria. He believed that those responsible for Mohbad’s death were attempting to manipulate public opinion against him.

As the investigation continues, Naira Marley is confident that the truth surrounding Mohbad’s death will be unveiled. He defended the legitimacy of Marlian Music as an independent label, emphasizing its dedication to promoting exceptional talent.

He urged Nigerians to support the police and relevant authorities with information and evidence related to Mohbad’s death to ensure those responsible face justice. Thousands of Nigerians have already demanded justice for Mohbad through nationwide protests.

The Lagos State Police had previously inaugurated a 13-man special investigation team on September 18 to delve into the circumstances of Mohbad’s death. On September 21, the police conducted an autopsy on Mohbad’s remains and are currently awaiting the results.

Naira Marley, through his lawyers, remains committed to clearing his name and honoring the memory of Mohbad, promising to do right by him and his grieving family.
