Court Grants Order to Serve Mohbad’s Wife via Substituted Means for DNA Test Application
In a recent development regarding the paternity dispute surrounding the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, the Chief Magistrate Court in Ikorodu has granted an order for Wunmi, Mohbad’s wife, to be served notice of the pending DNA test application through substituted means.
The decision was disclosed by a statement signed by Monisola Odumosu, a member of the legal team representing the Aloba family. According to the statement, Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba, filed an application seeking permission to serve Wunmi by posting all legal documents related to the case at her last-known address, as previous attempts by the court sheriff to serve her had failed.
Emmanuel Oroko, leading the legal team, argued that serving Wunmi at her last-known address would constitute proper notification of the pending suit. The Chief Magistrate agreed with this argument and ordered that Wunmi be served by posting the court process at her last known address.
The dispute revolves around the paternity of baby Liam, with the Aloba family contesting it and seeking a court order for Wunmi and the child to undergo a DNA test at a recognized laboratory in Lagos. Wunmi, in a viral video, expressed her willingness to undergo the DNA test but claimed she had never been available for the court sheriff to serve her with the necessary legal documents.
