Fresh Autopsy Reveals Likely Cause of Mohbad’s Death
A recent autopsy conducted at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) on the body of the late singer, Mohbad, has shed light on the possible cause of his demise.
According to The Cable Lifestyle, the autopsy report, obtained on Thursday, disclosed that various samples from Mohbad’s body, including gastric content, blood, bone marrow, liver, kidney, and lung, were collected for a comprehensive toxicology examination.
The anatomical and pathological findings unveiled an injury on Mohbad’s right forearm, with his body exhibiting moderate to severe decomposition.
The toxicology report revealed the presence of Diphenhydramine, an anti-histamine, albeit within a non-lethal concentration range. Anti-histamines like Diphenhydramine are commonly used to alleviate allergy symptoms and treat various other conditions such as stomach issues, colds, and anxiety.
Despite these findings, the precise cause of Mohbad’s death remains uncertain. However, the report suggests the possibility of a drug reaction based on the absence of significant post-mortem and toxicology findings.
The circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s demise have been shrouded in controversy since his passing on September 12. His burial the following day was swiftly followed by the exhumation of his body on September 21 for further investigation.
Joseph Aloba, Mohbad’s father, previously indicated that his son had received an injection from an “auxiliary nurse” prior to his death, prompting suspicion and subsequent arrests.
In a recent development, the Lagos state police commissioner, Idowu Owohunwa, identified the auxiliary nurse, Feyisayo Ogedengbe, as the prime suspect in Mohbad’s death. Ogedengbe allegedly administered a cocktail of highly potent injections, including tetanus toxoid, paracetamol, and ceftriaxone, which triggered fatal reactions leading to Mohbad’s demise.
Owohunwa emphasized Ogedengbe’s lack of qualification to administer such medications and highlighted her negligence in violating standard medical protocols by administering injections in a non-clinical environment.
As investigations continue, the mystery surrounding Mohbad’s death continues to unravel, with the autopsy results offering new insights into the potential causeof the tragedy.
