“My Life Got Better After Mohbad’s Death” – Late Singer’s Father

Joseph Aloba, father of the late musician Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has revealed that his life took a significant turn for the better following his son’s untimely demise. Mohbad tragically passed away on September 11, 2023, at the age of 26 under controversial circumstances.

In a recent interview with media personality Akin Abolade, Aloba reflected on the unexpected changes in his life, attributing them to divine intervention and the spirit of his late son.

“Let me just say yes, my life got better after Mohbad’s death because he is my friend. He had it in plan to do many things for me but they didn’t allow him to do them. After his death, it was the spirit of Mohbad, and that of God combined together that began to send people to assist me,” Aloba said.

He disclosed that compassionate Nigerians have gifted him assets such as a car, a truck, and other items, which he described as extraordinary.

“Even the car and everything I have now, it was people that gave them to me and it is beyond ordinary. So it is the spirit of Mohbad and God that led those people to give me all I have now,” he added.

Aloba also shed light on the struggles his son faced, alleging that Mohbad’s wife, Wunmi, and her family control much of the late singer’s property. He mentioned that a plot of land Mohbad purchased for him to build a church was later used for the singer’s burial.

“They did a lot concerning that boy (Mohbad). All his landed property is in their possession. Even the land he bought for me to build a church, I forced him to buy and mould the blocks on it, which was later used to bury him,” Aloba alleged.

He further recalled Mohbad’s plans to buy him a house after completing a tour, noting that the purchase had already been paid for before his death. Reflecting on their shared journey, Aloba revealed that Mohbad served as his backup singer from the age of one and was instrumental in his rise as a musician.
