Davido Reacts to Cubana Chief Priest’s Bail: Denies Possibility of Incarceration
In a recent development surrounding the alleged Naira abuse case, popular singer Davido has voiced his reaction to the bail granted to socialite Pascal Okechukwu, known as Cubana Chief Priest. Cubana Chief Priest was granted bail in the sum of N10 million after pleading not guilty to the charges brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The arraignment took place before Justice Kehinde Ogundare of the Federal High Court in Lagos. Cubana Chief Priest faced a three-count charge related to the abuse of the Naira. Following his plea, he was granted bail with the requirement of two sureties in like sum.
Expressing gratitude on his Instagram handle following the bail, Cubana Chief Priest thanked his friends and fans for their support during the trial. He acknowledged feeling humbled by the experience, stating that it affirmed his stature.
Davido, in response to Cubana Chief Priest’s post, expressed disbelief at the possibility of his friend being incarcerated. He emphatically stated his inability to endure six months without seeing him, indicating strong support and confidence in Cubana Chief Priest’s innocence.
This reaction comes in the wake of another high-profile case where Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Federal High Court in Lagos sentenced popular crossdresser Bobrisky to six months in jail without the option of a fine for Naira mutilation.
