“Support Tinubu, Nnamdi Kanu Will Be Freed” – Cubana Chief Priest
Socialite and businessman Cubana Chief Priest has called on leaders and residents of the South-East to align politically with Bola Ahmed Tinubu, arguing that such support could influence the release of Nnamdi Kanu, who remains in detention.
Chief Priest made the remarks while reacting to a video showing the Lawrence Agubuzo, traditional ruler of Ezema Olo, during a visit to Abuja. In the footage, the monarch appealed to President Tinubu to consider the concerns of people from the region and address Kanu’s continued detention.
Sharing the clip on his social media page, Chief Priest commended the monarch’s intervention, describing it as a strategic move that brought the issue directly to the President’s attention.
He argued that engagement, rather than confrontation, would yield better results for the South-East. According to him, supporting the current administration could create room for negotiation and possible concessions, including Kanu’s release.
Chief Priest also pointed to the outcome of the last presidential election, noting that Tinubu secured victory without significant backing from the South-East. He suggested that greater regional support in future elections could strengthen the zone’s influence at the federal level.
The socialite further highlighted what he described as the President’s strong political network nationwide, maintaining that strategic cooperation would better serve the interests of the Igbo community.
