How Mr Ibu’s Adopted Daughter Hijacked His Treatment Funds – Actor’s Wife Narrates

Amid the health struggles of Nigerian comic actor John Okafor, famously known as Mr Ibu, a brewing family dispute has surfaced. The actor’s wife, Stella Maris Okafor, has publicly accused their adopted daughter, Jazmine, of taking control of the funds intended for Mr Ibu’s treatment.

The controversy emerged following a viral Instagram video in October where Mr Ibu appealed for prayers and financial aid, detailing his doctor’s recommendation for a potential leg amputation. Despite the medical director exploring alternative solutions, the amputation remained a possible option.

While both Mr Ibu’s wife and daughter actively sought support and kept fans updated on the actor’s surgeries and treatments, a conflict arose over the management of donated funds.

Recent online disputes between Mrs Okafor and Jazmine unveiled allegations and counter-allegations. Mrs Okafor claimed lack of access to the main donation account, asserting that it was under Jazmine’s control, whom she labeled a ‘total stranger.’

Accusations spiraled as screenshots from a chat with Jazmine’s friend, shared by a notorious blog, alleged Jazmine’s diversion of funds to a separate account, thwarting Mrs Okafor’s alleged plans to use the donations for personal expenses.

Mrs Okafor countered these claims, asserting that a recorded private conversation was taken out of context and refuting the allegations of seeking a car or involvement with native doctors.

This isn’t the first public clash between Mrs Okafor and Jazmine. Earlier this year, Mrs Okafor had accused her husband of an improper relationship with Jazmine, along with claims of domestic violence, which were later refuted by Mr Ibu in an interview with media personality Daddy Freeze.

The recent update from Mr Ibu, shared on his birthday, confirmed the amputation. The family feud, however, continues to unfold, raising concerns about the management of funds and family relationships in the midst of the actor’s health crisis.
