Two LAWMA Officials Crushed to Death by Driver in Gbagada
In a tragic incident on Monday, two yet-to-be-identified female officials of the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) lost their lives as a vehicle struck them down in the Charlie Boy area of Gbagada, Lagos State.
According to an eyewitness, the fatal accident occurred while the two women were fulfilling their duties, with a Sienna vehicle abruptly hitting them, resulting in instant fatality.
“The driver’s inexplicable action led to the tragic incident. He struck the two LAWMA women as they were on duty, leaving us all in shock and disbelief,” the eyewitness stated.
The responsible driver has been apprehended and handed over to the police for further investigation.
In the aftermath, the Oshodi-Gbagada motorway witnessed extensive traffic congestion, with hundreds of vehicles and commuters enduring prolonged delays. The situation worsened as people obstructed both lanes of the motorway, intensifying the standstill.
The influx of vehicles attempting to navigate through the motorway lanes further compounded the traffic jam, detaining numerous motorists for hours.
However, law enforcement authorities swiftly intervened to prevent any further escalation of the chaotic situation.
