‘He Knows Where We Have Been Meeting, He Should Come and Stop Us’ — Umar Sani Dares Wike Over PDP Meeting Venue

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Umar Sani, has accused the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, of using government authority to target political opponents within the party amid its ongoing leadership crisis.

Speaking on Arise Television’s Morning Show on Thursday, Sani said attempts to disrupt meetings organised by rival factions of the PDP were part of a familiar pattern allegedly linked to Wike’s camp.

He described the actions as intimidation tactics and dismissed them as ineffective.

“He knows where we have been holding meetings. He knows the place, and he has not shut it down yet. He can’t,” Sani said.

According to him, similar incidents occurred during the tenure of acting National Chairman, Umar Damagum, whenever meetings considered unfavourable to Wike’s allies were scheduled.

Sani alleged that party offices, including the PDP national secretariat and the Legacy House annex, were previously sealed over issues such as unpaid ground rent and tenement rates.

He maintained that his faction remained unshaken and insisted it represented the legitimate leadership of the PDP.

“We are not bothered. He knows we have been holding meetings. He knows we have been holding NEC meetings. So he can’t do anything,” he said.

Sani also said his group was awaiting the Certified True Copy (CTC) of the recent Supreme Court judgment, which he believes will determine the next stage of the party’s leadership dispute.

He claimed the ruling would eventually force members of the opposing camp to vacate the PDP national headquarters at Wadata Plaza.

Describing Wike’s alleged actions as “the last kick of a dying horse,” Sani accused the FCT minister of using state power to prolong internal party battles.
