U.S. Senator Urges Deportation of Foreign Nationals Supporting Hamas Amid Israel-Hamas Conflict
In a bold move amidst the intensifying Israel-Hamas conflict, U.S. Senator Marco Rubio of Florida has called upon the Biden administration to revoke the visas of foreign nationals who openly support Hamas, a Palestinian militant group.
Senator Rubio made his stance clear through his official Twitter handle on a Saturday, as tensions in the Gaza Strip continued to rise due to the ongoing hostilities between Israel and Hamas.
The call from Senator Rubio comes in response to reports of foreign nationals in the United States taking to the streets in support of the Hamas group. In light of this, the Senator is urging the Biden administration to adhere to established legal processes and repatriate foreign nationals who are openly backing Hamas.
“I have asked the Biden Administration to follow our existing laws by cancelling the visas & immediately removing foreign nationals who support Hamas,” Senator Rubio expressed on social media. He further emphasized that those foreign nationals advocating for an “intifada” or celebrating acts of violence, such as the loss of innocent lives, should be deported.
The Israel-Hamas conflict has taken a devastating toll, with the death count on both sides surpassing 2,500, as a result of a series of attacks and retaliatory measures. The situation remains a point of international concern and will undoubtedly continue to shape discussions and policies in the days to come.
