Tehran Strike: Israel Says IRGC Intelligence Head Eliminated
Israel has reported that it carried out an air operation in Tehran, claiming the death of the head of intelligence within Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). Iranian military authorities have confirmed the death of a senior commander, while details remain limited from Tehran.
The Israeli Air Force stated on its official X account that the overnight strike was conducted based on what it described as actionable intelligence provided by military intelligence units. The operation reportedly targeted Majid Khotam-Khasini Khademi, identified as the head of the IRGC Intelligence Organization.
According to the Israeli military, Khademi was a senior figure within the IRGC, an influential branch of Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, and had extensive experience in security and intelligence work.
The statement further said he assumed the intelligence leadership role after the earlier killing of his predecessor, Mohammad Khotami, during a previous Israeli operation.
Israel’s military accused Khademi of coordinating intelligence activities linked to operations against Israeli interests and other international targets. It also alleged that intelligence under his leadership was used in planning hostile actions and that he was involved in monitoring internal dissent within Iran.
The Israeli Air Force described the strike in Tehran, Tehran Province, Iran as part of a wider campaign targeting senior IRGC figures, stating that multiple commanders have been affected during ongoing operations.
Officials in Israel further claimed the action has weakened elements of the IRGC’s command structure and disrupted its operational capabilities.
Iranian authorities have not issued a detailed public response to Israel’s statement at the time of reporting.
