Explosions Reported in Jerusalem as Iran Launches New Missile Wave Toward Israel
Loud explosions were reported in Jerusalem on Tuesday morning as Iran launched what it described as a new wave of missile strikes toward Israel, according to Iranian state media.
The Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) announced on Telegram that missiles were being fired toward what it referred to as occupied territories. Shortly after, it claimed that several projectiles had penetrated layers of Israeli air defenses.
The escalation followed earlier incidents in which a building in northern Israel was struck. Video released by Israel’s emergency medical service, Magen David Adom, showed damage at the site. Authorities said there were no fatalities in that strike.
In response to the incoming threat, the Israeli military issued multiple alerts on Tuesday morning confirming detection of missiles launched from Iran and stating that interception efforts were underway.
No immediate official casualty figures were reported in Jerusalem following the latest explosions.
