Tragedy in Abia: Six Family Members Found Dead by Neighbors
Six members of a single family were discovered dead in Obehie, Ukwa West Local Government Area of Abia State. The tragic discovery was made by neighbors on Wednesday, plunging Isi Obehie and surrounding villages into deep mourning.
While the official cause of death has yet to be confirmed, sources within the community speculate that the family may have succumbed to inhaling toxic fumes from a generator. Others have suggested that the deaths might be the result of a ‘spiritual attack.’
The victims, identified as three children, their mother, her sister, and a brother-in-law, were all found lifeless in their home. The only surviving member of the family is the father, who was reportedly away at the time of the incident.
Though the identities of the deceased have not yet been released, local sources indicate that the family originally hailed from another part of Abia State but had been residing in Obehie before the tragedy struck.
The Abia State Police Command has confirmed the incident and is currently conducting an investigation to uncover the exact cause of death. ASP Maureen Chinaka, the spokesperson for the Command, stated, “We received the report, and an investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the deaths.”
