Pastor Adeboye’s Son Not Involved in Kaduna Contracts When Awarded, Ronchess Global Resources Plc Clarifies

Ronchess Global Resources Plc has issued a statement addressing recent allegations involving Pastor Adeolu Adeboye, son of the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye. The company clarified that Adeolu was not a director at the time the controversial contracts were awarded by the Kaduna State Government.

The clarification follows reports claiming that Adeolu, who is currently a director at Ronchess, secured over N8 billion in contracts from the Kaduna State Government during former Governor Nasir El-Rufai’s administration but failed to complete the projects. The company refuted these claims, stating that the contracts were awarded before Adeolu joined the board in 2021.

In an official statement released on August 30, 2024, signed by Adesoji Adedoyin, Esq., Ronchess acknowledged that while Pastor Adeolu is now a board member, he had no involvement in the bidding or awarding of the contracts, which took place in 2020. The company also explained that the projects were delayed and, in some cases, halted due to the Kaduna State Government’s failure to release payments amounting to N1.39 billion for completed works.

Ronchess detailed the progress of various road projects under the Kaduna Urban Renewal Road Component, highlighting that some were fully completed and commissioned, while others were left unfinished due to the government’s financial shortcomings and delays in compensating affected property owners.

The company also addressed ongoing legal disputes, revealing that it has taken legal action against the Kaduna State Government for failing to fulfill its payment obligations. The company further accused the government of attempting to intimidate its directors through law enforcement agencies, despite the matter being a civil issue already before the courts.

Ronchess emphasized that Pastor Adeolu Adeboye, like any other Nigerian, is legally permitted to engage in legitimate business activities. The company reiterated that the allegations against Adeolu were baseless and misrepresented the facts, asserting that the ongoing challenges were purely civil and not a result of any wrongdoing on his part.
