No Cracks In Ondo PDP, We Stand On Atiku, Okowa’s Presidential Mandate – Agboola Ajayi Campaign Council

The Peoples Democratic Party Senatorial Candidate for the Ondo South Senatorial District, in the 2023 general elections, Chief Agboola Ajayi, has dismissed the report of cracks in the party in the state.

SaharaReporters reported earlier that there was an indication that there were cracks in PDP as seen by the omission of the images of the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and his running mate, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa from one of Ajayi’s campaign posters.

It had been claimed that the former Ondo State deputy governor, pledged his loyalty to former state governor, Olusegun Mimiko, who himself is a member of the so-called Integrity Group led by Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike.

But reacting to the report, Director, Media and Publicity, of PDP Ondo South Senatorial District Campaign Council, Allen Sowore Esq, dismissed the report of cracks in the party, adding that it was absurd to state that because one out of numerous billboards erected did not feature the photographers of the Presidential candidate and the Vice Presidential candidate respectively, then there was a crack in the party.

He stated that Ajayi is a loyal party man, committed and very much with the Presidential candidate of the party.

Titled: “Re-Cracks In PDP As Ondo Senatorial Candidate, Ajayi Excludes Atiku, Okowa’s Photographs From Campaign Posters,” the PDP said the report was the handiwork of members of the ruling All Progressives Congress, (APC) and the state government whose popularity and acceptance dwindled daily.

The statement partly read: “To say the least, the report is incorrect, mischievous and it is targeted at causing disaffection among the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) candidates in Ondo State who are doing very well daily on their campaign programmes.

“Obviously, this is the handiwork of members of the ruling All Progressives Congress, (APC) and the state government whose popularity and acceptance dwindles daily. Their imminent defeat is staring at them. Members of the public should therefore disregard this archaic tactics seeking for undeserved attention.

“The PDP candidate for Ondo South Senatorial District, His Excellency Chief Alfred Agboola Ajayi is loyal, committed and very much with the Presidential candidate of the party, His Excellency, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the Vice Presidential candidate, Ifeanyi Okowa and all the party’s candidates across the state.

“Chief Alfred Agboola Ajayi is not just a candidate in the PDP, the party is his first family. He’s also a leader who serves as the rallying point for others in Ondo state in particular and Nigeria generally. He therefore cannot work against anyone whatsoever in the party. This inference that because one of the numerous billboards erected doesn’t feature the photographers of the Presidential candidate and the Vice Presidential candidate respectively suggests a crack in the party is absurd, illogical and babyish.”
