JUST IN: Terrorists Strike Again, Kidnap 87 in Fresh Kaduna Attack
Terrorists have struck again, this time targeting the Kajuru-Station community in the Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State. The assailants abducted 87 individuals during their brazen assault on Sunday night.
Harisu Dari, a member of the Kajuru-Station Youths, confirmed the harrowing incident on Monday, revealing that the terrorists not only abducted numerous locals but also ransacked shops, looting food items and valuables. The attack, which occurred around 10 pm, has left the community in a state of shock and fear.
This abduction follows closely on the heels of another horrifying incident just two days prior, where 15 women and a man were kidnapped in the Dogon-Noma community within the same local government area. Kaduna’s Kajuru and Chikun LGs have recently seen a surge in kidnapping incidents, intensifying tensions in the state.
Harisu lamented the lack of immediate intervention from security forces, noting that as of his visit to the community on Monday morning, no efforts had been made to restore confidence among the villagers or establish contact with the abducted locals. He emphasized the urgent need for the government to reassess its strategies in combating these terrorists.
Reports indicate that in the past two weeks alone, terrorists have kidnapped over 172 villagers in the state, underscoring the escalating security crisis. Despite attempts to obtain information from the state Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mansir Hassan, there has been no response as of the time of filing this report.
