“I’ve Not Seen Anything Alex Otti Has Done as Governor… Aside Repainting Roads I Built” — Kalu
Senator and former Abia State Governor Orji Uzor Kalu has expressed disappointment in the performance of Governor Alex Otti, saying he has yet to witness any meaningful achievements under the current administration.
In a recent interview, Kalu claimed that Otti has only been repainting roads built during his tenure as governor. He also lamented being targeted with insults because of his membership in the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Kalu added that he played a role in Otti’s 2023 election victory but will not support him in 2027, choosing instead to focus on advancing the APC in the state.
He further alleged that funds released to Abia State in Otti’s first four months equaled what his administration received over eight years, yet no major roads have been constructed under the current government.
Observers, however, note that prior to Otti’s tenure, Abia faced widespread infrastructure decay, unpaid civil servant salaries, and hazardous roads—including Port Harcourt Road, Omuma Road, and Obohia Road—that contributed to property abandonment.
