Gov Ikpeazu Sends Congratulatory Message To Alex Otti
Okezie Ikpeazu, Governor of Abia State, has congratulated the Labor Party candidate, Alex Otti, for winning the governorship election in the state.
Ikpeazu in a statement issued and signed by his Chief press Secretary, said Otti has fought a long battle and deserves commendation for his staying power and resilience.
He said, “Since we have come to the logical end of this battle, it is appropriate to congratulate the winner, Dr Alex Otti on his hard fought victory. In every battle, there will always be a winner and in the spirit of sportsmanship and love for our state, the Governor elect must see his victory as a higher call to service to the people of Abia State”.
The governor also commended the PDP candidate, Okey Ahiwe, for their doggedness and advised other candidates not to distract the Governor-elect with court cases.
”Let us break this negative trend of subjecting our Governors to endless litigation and allow them to concentrate on providing good governance”.
Ikpeazu also assured Alex Otti that he will put in place every necessary measure to ensure a seamless transition from his administration to his.
He, therefore, thanked the people of Abia State for voting in a very peaceful atmosphere and reminded them that peace remains very critical in the quest for sustainable development.
Ikpeazu, however, wished Alex Otti God’s blessings and guidance and assured the people of the State that he will continue to discharge his duties until he hands over to the Governor-elect on the 29th day of May, 2023.
