Girl Missing in Abia After Alleged Flogging by Mother
A 13-year-old girl, Miss Tochukwu Johnson, has been declared missing in Umuahia, Abia State, following an incident where she was reportedly flogged by her mother for discarding the family’s soup.
Tochukwu Johnson, a resident of Afara Majestic in Umuahia North LGA, was last seen on March 22, 2024, when she left home for an undisclosed destination. The Abia State Police Command issued a statement, signed by Police Public Relations Officer Maureen Chinaka, confirming the disappearance of the fair-skinned girl.
According to the statement, the young girl left her residence after an altercation with her mother over the disposal of the family’s soup. Despite extensive efforts by relatives, her whereabouts remain unknown.
The statement urged anyone with relevant information regarding the whereabouts of Tochukwu Johnson, described as 4-foot-5-inches tall, to contact the nearest police station or the office of the PPRO of the Abia State Police Command.
