Explaining his decision, Obi praised the infrastructural development efforts of Governor Hope Uzodinma, which he described as a key factor in his return to the party. He also commended the APC’s state leadership under Ebere, crediting it for the party’s strong grassroots performance in the recent local government elections.

The former lawmaker pledged his unwavering support and loyalty to the APC, assuring the party’s leadership of his commitment. In response, APC State Chairman Macdonald Ebere welcomed Obi back to the fold and expressed appreciation for his decision to return.

The event was attended by several political stakeholders from Ideato South, who accompanied Obi to mark his return.

Obi’s political journey has seen him move across several parties, including the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and most recently, the Labour Party, before making his way back to the APC.
