APC Extends Timeline for Purchase and Submission of Forms

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has extended the timeline for the sale and submission of its expression of interest and nomination forms ahead of upcoming primaries.

The decision was approved by the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) during a meeting held Thursday at its national secretariat in Abuja, according to a statement shared on X.

Originally, the sale of forms was scheduled to end on May 2, with submission of completed forms due by May 4. Under the revised timetable, the sale will now close at midnight on May 4, while submission has been extended to midnight on May 5.

Durosinmi Meseko, the party’s deputy national publicity secretary, said the adjustment was prompted by the public holiday observed nationwide on Friday and the volume of interest from prospective aspirants.

The APC had earlier released its election timetable on April 20 as part of preparations for the 2027 general elections.

Details of the nomination process show that presidential aspirants are required to pay N30 million for the expression of interest form and N70 million for the nomination form. For governorship aspirants, the fees are set at N10 million and N40 million, respectively.

Senate aspirants are to pay N3 million for the expression of interest form and N17 million for nomination, while those contesting for the House of Representatives will pay N1 million and N9 million. For state house of assembly positions, the fees are N1 million for expression of interest and N5 million for nomination.

The party also stated that female aspirants, youths, and persons with disabilities will receive a concession on nomination fees, paying 50 percent of the cost while covering the full expression of interest fee.
