Ex-PDP Aspirant Buys APC N100m Presidential Nomination Form
Former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential aspirant Stanley Osifo has purchased the All Progressives Congress (APC) N100 million presidential nomination form, becoming the first known challenger seeking the ruling party’s ticket alongside President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 election.
Osifo, a 50-year-old entrepreneur, unveiled his bid on Monday under the campaign slogan *Metamorphosis 2027*, outlining plans to address Nigeria’s economic challenges through security reforms and fiscal discipline.
Speaking at a press conference in Abuja on Tuesday, Osifo said his ambition is driven by a vision to position Nigeria among the world’s leading economies. He said his campaign would focus on economic management, security, healthcare, water resources and regional integration.
He added that his programme is built around integrity and what he described as a strong grasp of global economic recovery models, arguing that economic stability and security are critical to national development.
Osifo also dismissed speculation that his presidential ambition is backed by political sponsors, saying he is funding the campaign independently.
His latest move marks another shift in a political journey that has included both major parties. In 2019, Osifo defected to the APC less than 48 hours before the presidential election, citing consultations with supporters. At the time, he said he would mobilise support for the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari.
He had earlier sought the PDP presidential ticket but said he was denied participation in the party’s primary despite meeting the requirements.
