“Wike Didn’t Fall from Heaven; We Made Him” – Secondus

Former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Uche Secondus, has criticized the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, for what he described as an attitude suggesting Wike “fell from heaven.” Secondus made the comments yesterday while accompanying Rivers State Governor, Sim Fubara, to commission the 14-kilometer Bori internal roads project.

Speaking to an audience that included key political leaders, Secondus reminded Wike and others of their political roots, asserting that God and leaders like himself played pivotal roles in shaping Wike’s political career.

“Those who are shouting in Abuja, how were they made? It was God. Some of us, and the leaders seated here today, made it possible. God first, because we do not want to take God’s glory,” Secondus said.

He recalled a past thanksgiving service held after he became the PDP National Chairman, where Wike acknowledged the contributions of God, Secondus, and other leaders in his political journey. “Today, when he speaks, either in Abuja or here, it appears as if he fell from heaven,” he remarked.

Secondus also commended Governor Fubara, describing him as a humble leader who respects elders and demonstrates resilience. Highlighting Fubara’s leadership qualities, Secondus said, “The test of a leader is when you find yourself in confusion and frustration, yet come out of it with even greater faith.”

He praised the governor’s commitment to the principles of love and unity, as outlined in the Ten Commandments, and expressed confidence in Fubara’s ability to excel. “Power comes from God. The same way God gave it to [Wike] through us, God has given it to you. From what we are seeing, you will excel,” Secondus concluded.
