Fayose Meets ADC’s Aregbesola After Dumping PDP, Sparks Defection Speculation
Otunba Emmanuel Fayose, a former governorship aspirant, has moved swiftly in his next political step following his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Less than a day after quitting the party, Fayose held a closed-door meeting with Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, the National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
A political source from Ekiti, who asked not to be named, confirmed that Fayose is already in talks with ADC leaders about formally joining the party. During the meeting, Aregbesola reportedly urged him to waste no time in making the move, stressing that the ADC remains open to leaders with strong grassroots appeal.
Fayose had earlier released a viral video where he described the PDP as “compromised” and accused its leadership of acting as “stooges for the ruling APC.” His visit to Aregbesola has intensified speculation that he may be positioning himself within the ADC as the party seeks to strengthen its profile ahead of the next general elections.
