Arowosaye Congratulates Makinde on Tribunal Victory, Hails Judgement
A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo state and a loyalist of Governor Seyi Makinde, Prince Saheed Arowosaye has congratulated the governor on his victory at the Tribunal.
Reacting to Monday’s judgement by the Justice Sirajo Muhammed-led Governorship Election Tribunal that upheld the election of Makinde as the governor of the state, Arowosaye in a statement issued on Monday said he was not surprised at the outcome adding that the governor was validly elected by overwhelming majority of the electorate after enduring 8 years of bad leadership inflicted on the state by the immediate past Abiola Ajimobi-led All Progressives Congress (APC) administration.
“Makinde was popular and won convincingly because of his programmes. Oyo people saw in him, a sincere and passionate leader that is desirous of turning around the fortunes of the state after the directionless leadership of outgone administration of Ajimobi. So far his administration has continued to justify that faith Oyo people placed in him with their votes through several steps he has taken to right the wrongs of yesterday by setting the path to a sustainable future for the state” he said.
Arowosaye commended the Tribunal for doing the right thing by affirming Makinde as the rightful winner of the election. He expressed confidence that the governor will continue to impress and surpass the expectations of Oyo people.
