Anambra Insecurity: Ubah Criticizes Soludo Over Flavour’s Father’s Burial in Enugu

Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, representing Anambra South senatorial zone, has expressed disappointment over the relocation of the burial of music star Flavour Nabania’s father from Anambra to Enugu State. Flavour, whose real name is Chinedu Okoli, cited security concerns in Anambra State as the reason for the move.

Reacting to this decision, Senator Ubah issued an apology to Flavour, blaming the insecurity in Anambra on the interference of the State’s governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo. According to Ubah, the governor’s actions have hindered security initiatives in Flavour’s hometown, Umunze.

In a statement released by Ubah’s special adviser on media and strategic communications, Mr. Kamen Chuks Ogbonna, Ubah stated, “I apologize to Chinedu Okoli (Mr. Flavour) for missing this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to celebrate the life and times of his father in his hometown. I would have secured Orumba and the entire Anambra South senatorial district if the state government hadn’t stopped my security initiative, despite its success in the Nnewi Pilot program.”

Ubah elaborated on his security efforts, highlighting a successful initiative launched in 2023, which provided comprehensive coverage for the Anambra South senatorial district. The program, which included the use of artificial intelligence, local intelligence, walkie-talkies, and 4G high-definition CCTV systems, was planned to expand to other regions but was halted by the state government.

“The state government’s interference halted the initiative’s progress, introducing politics into security matters and prioritizing the governor’s second-term bid over the welfare of the people,” Ubah claimed. He further noted that Nnewi, where the initiative was successfully implemented, is now the safest town in Anambra State.

Ubah vowed to continue advocating for the security and well-being of his constituents despite the obstacles posed by the state government.
