Nigerian Troops Rescue Passengers from Kidnappers in Delta State
Nigerian troops successfully rescued passengers from a commercial bus following a fierce gun battle with suspected kidnappers on the Ughelli-Patani Road.
The Nigerian Army reported the incident on its official X handle, stating that the troops responded swiftly to a distress call on Sunday. The troops quickly mobilized and confronted the heavily armed kidnappers, leading to an intense firefight.
The Army’s statement detailed that the prompt action of the troops forced the kidnappers to abandon their captives and flee. The rescued passengers are now in safe custody and receiving necessary care and support.
Efforts are ongoing to pursue and apprehend the fleeing suspects.
