Abia: Labour Party Rep Member, Onwusibe, Empowers Constituents with Cassava Stems, Yams, Maize, Cucumber
Ginger Onwusibe, the Labour Party representative for Isialangwa North and South constituency in Abia State, celebrated his first year in office by launching a significant agricultural initiative. Onwusibe, through his verified Facebook page, announced the distribution of cassava stems, yams, maize, cucumber, and other crucial seedlings to residents across his constituency.
The distribution event, held at the Amassa Ntigha Mini Stadium, saw over 600 constituents from Umuoha, Ngwa Ukwu, and Ntigha wards participating in training sessions focused on modern agricultural practices. Onwusibe emphasized the importance of these initiatives in revitalizing local farming and enhancing food security.
“We provided them with improved seedlings such as palm, tomatoes, pepper, okra, as well as fertilizers,” Onwusibe detailed on his Facebook page. These seedlings were sourced from outside the constituency to introduce superior varieties suitable for local cultivation.
The initiative aims to benefit a total of 2000 participants across Isiala Ngwa North and South Local Governments, signaling a proactive approach to addressing agricultural challenges and empowering local communities through sustainable farming practices.
