Abia Community Contributes ₦100 Million to Governor Otti’s Re-Election Campaign

The Ukwa La Ngwa community in Abia State has donated ₦100 million to support Governor Alex Otti’s nomination for the 2027 governorship election.

The contribution was announced Friday during a civic reception held in Otti’s honor at Enyimba International Stadium, Aba, according to a statement from the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Njoku Ukoha.

Emmanuel Emeruwa, Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly and Chairman of the Ukwa La Ngwa Civic Reception Committee, said the amount was raised collectively by the community, with a willingness to contribute more if needed.

Governor Otti expressed gratitude to attendees, describing the turnout as “intimidating” and thanking residents for their support. He reiterated his administration’s focus on public interest and non-partisan governance.

The governor also announced that Ovom Road would be commissioned on February 25, alongside the reconstruction of Enyimba Hotel, a five-star facility to be managed by Radisson Blu, with operations expected to begin next year.

Otti used the occasion to encourage Aba residents to register for their Permanent Voter Cards and take active roles in community security and cleanliness.

Senator Adolphus Wabara, Chairman of the occasion and PDP Board of Trustees, framed the reception as a “people’s verdict” on Otti’s performance, emphasizing that Abians would protect their mandate in 2027.

Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, Labour Party National Secretary Darlington Nwokocha, and other officials also praised Otti’s achievements, highlighting his impact on local infrastructure and industry. Chief Theo Nkire, representing the Ukwa La Ngwa people, described the governor as “a great achiever” who has transformed Aba into a regional industrial hub.

Traditional rulers and other dignitaries attended the event, which included cultural displays celebrating the community’s heritage.
