Why Gov Fubara Visited Rivers Assembly Quarters

Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, disclosed the true purpose behind his recent visit to the residential quarters of the State House of Assembly. Contrary to speculations, Governor Fubara’s visit was not merely symbolic but aimed at undertaking an on-the-spot assessment of the structures with the intention of initiating rehabilitation works to restore their dignity and habitability.

Speaking after inspecting the Emohua – Abalama -Tema Junction dual carriageway road project, Governor Fubara clarified, “Is the Assembly quarters not part of my property? Is there anything wrong in going to check how things are going on there? You are aware of the developments. We have a new speaker, and I went there to see for myself how things are. There might be a few things I might want to do there for the good of our people.”

Governor Fubara’s decision to personally inspect the quarters underscores his commitment to ensuring conducive working conditions for lawmakers and maintaining the integrity of the legislative institution. By taking a walk around the facility, he sought a better understanding of the necessary improvements needed to enhance the living environment for legislators.

Additionally, Governor Fubara provided insights into the ongoing road project, emphasizing the significance of infrastructural development in improving the lives of the people. He highlighted the administration’s efforts to address security challenges associated with the road’s dilapidated condition, emphasizing the importance of governance centered on the welfare of the populace.
