Kogi Governor Ododo Counts “Tea Time with NSA Ribadu” Among First 100 Days Achievements
In a remarkable display of gubernatorial triumph, Kogi State Governor, Usman Ododo, proudly highlighted his rendezvous with the National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu, as a standout accomplishment within his initial 100 days in office.
Joining this illustrious meeting on the roster of achievements were such notable events as hosting the Ife-Olukotun Community from the Yagba East Local Government Area, hobnobbing at the Progressive Governors Forum in Abuja, and engaging in a titillating tête-à-tête with the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Abubakar Kyari, alongside the governors of Kogi, Ondo, and Taraba.
Governor Ododo, aged 42, took to his official X handle to unveil this illustrious catalog of triumphs, adorning each entry with an accompanying infographic featuring his esteemed countenance. In a stirring proclamation, he avowed, “We will continue to do more for the good people of Kogi State. God Bless Kogi State. God Bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
Yet, amidst this grand display of gubernatorial valor, one cannot overlook the irony of certain achievements, such as the “Announcement of the first set of appointments on the first day of office,” which seemingly suggests that naming individuals to positions is a feat worthy of commemoration.
Further accolades include the Homecoming of His Excellency to a Grand Reception in Okene, an event which undoubtedly left the masses clamoring for more, and the Screening/Swearing-in of New Commissioners and Senior Aides to the Governor, a ceremony akin to a royal coronation in the annals of Kogi’s political history.
In a testament to his dedication to the agricultural sector, Governor Ododo proudly declared the designation and clearance of over 8000 hectares of farmland for the upcoming planting season, along with a vigorous campaign to identify genuine farmers in the state, segregate sectors for different crop production, and strategize the storage of farm produce.
Yet, amidst the fanfare, the specter of political contention looms large, with Ododo’s erstwhile opponent, Murtala Ajaka of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), persisting in his challenge to the governor’s victory at the election tribunal in Abuja.
As the dust settles on the first 100 days, Governor Ododo’s pledge to the people of Kogi State echoes in the corridors of power, leaving one to ponder what further marvels await in the days to come.
