“What Did I Do?” – Bobrisky Questions as He Is Allegedly Arrested by Nigerian Immigration
Popular Nigerian cross-dresser Okuneye Idris Olanrewaju, widely known as Bobrisky, has claimed he was arrested by officials of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS). In a post shared on his Instagram account on Tuesday, Bobrisky expressed confusion over the incident, stating that he was unaware of the reason for his arrest.
“Guys, have just been arrested by immigration in Nigeria. I don’t know what I do o,” he wrote, sparking concern and speculation among his followers. It remains unclear whether the arrest took place in Lagos or Abuja.
Bobrisky, known for his flamboyant personality and controversial public image, has had previous run-ins with law enforcement. In October 2024, reports indicated that he was arrested at the Seme border while allegedly attempting to flee to the Benin Republic. Sources within the Immigration Service claimed he was detained during a passport check, just hours before he was expected to appear before a Senate panel investigating allegations against him.
The Senate inquiry was linked to a viral social media recording in which Bobrisky allegedly admitted to paying N15 million to officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to dismiss money laundering charges against him. The revelation triggered public outrage and raised concerns about corruption within the agency.
Earlier this year, Bobrisky was sentenced to six months in prison for currency abuse. Following his release, he claimed to have served his time in a VIP facility, further fueling accusations of preferential treatment. The EFCC launched an internal investigation into the matter, and both Bobrisky and social media activist VeryDarkMan were invited for questioning at the agency’s Lagos Directorate.
