“I Don’t Know if the Child Is Mine, But I’ve Paid $2.5 Million in Support” – Elon Musk Responds to Child Support Claims
Elon Musk has responded to claims made by conservative influencer Ashley St. Clair regarding child support payments for their alleged son, after she accused him of reducing financial support. Musk took to his X account, formerly known as Twitter, to address the accusations, stating that he had already provided St. Clair with $2.5 million and was sending her $500,000 annually for their child’s care, despite uncertainty over paternity.
“I don’t know if the child is mine or not, but I am not against finding out. No court order is needed,” Musk wrote on X. He further explained that despite the lack of confirmation, he had already given her substantial financial support.
The comments came after St. Clair was seen outside her Manhattan home selling her Tesla, which she valued at around $100,000. She told reporters that the sale was a result of Musk allegedly reducing child support payments by 60%.
“I’m selling it because I need to make up for the 60% cut that Elon made to our son’s child support,” she said. St. Clair also hinted at wider financial issues, suggesting that Musk’s actions were causing significant financial strain. “You can check the stocks, I’m not the only one who is cleaning up after his messes,” she added.
St. Clair previously filed for sole legal custody of their child, claiming that Musk had been largely absent from the boy’s life. She alleged that Musk had only met their son three times and had played no role in his care or upbringing. Furthermore, she said he was not present during the child’s birth and had yet to publicly acknowledge him.
She revealed that their last conversation took place on February 13, just one day before she went public with her claims, expressing confusion over Musk’s behavior. “I don’t know why the richest man in the world would do this,” she said, adding, “Well, that’s his modus operandi when women speak out.”
