Bobrisky Loses $990 to Online Romance Scam, Cautions Fans
Popular Nigerian crossdresser and socialite, Okuneye Idris Olanrewaju, better known as Bobrisky, has revealed that he lost $990 to an online romance scam. In a post shared on his Instagram page on Sunday, Bobrisky expressed disbelief over the experience, admitting he never thought he could fall victim to such deception.
He explained that the scammer had been in contact with him for several months, initially claiming to live in the United States before saying he relocated to Canada. Throughout their interaction, the individual maintained regular communication, calling frequently and building what Bobrisky believed was a genuine connection.
The scam took a turn when a client from the U.S. contacted Bobrisky for an advertisement and intended to make a deposit via Cash App. Since he did not have access to the payment platform, Bobrisky reached out to the man he had been chatting with, asking him to assist by receiving the payment on his behalf. According to Bobrisky, the man agreed and collected the funds, only to block him immediately after receiving the money.
Bobrisky posted screenshots of their conversation and a photo of the alleged scammer on his page, warning his fans to be vigilant and avoid falling into similar traps.
