“It Was an April Fool’s Prank” – Bobrisky Makes U-Turn on Arrest Claim
Controversial cross-dresser Bobrisky has revealed that the claim of being arrested by Nigerian immigration authorities was an “April Fool’s prank.” Earlier, Bobrisky sparked concern among fans and followers after posting on social media that she had been arrested in Nigeria. “Guys, have just been arrested by immigration in Nigeria. I don’t know what I did o,” she wrote.
However, in a follow-up post, the social media personality admitted that the claim was a joke. The prank comes months after Bobrisky stated she had left Nigeria to focus on her well-being. Her legal troubles date back to April last year when she was arrested and sentenced to six months in prison for abusing the naira.
Following her release, activist VeryDarkMan shared an alleged audio conversation in which Bobrisky claimed she had paid EFCC officials N15 million to drop money laundering charges against her. She also alleged that her “godfather,” alongside Haliru Nababa, the Controller-General of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), ensured she served her sentence in a private apartment rather than in prison. Bobrisky denied the authenticity of the recording and threatened legal action against VeryDarkMan.
On October 21, she was arrested at the Seme border for allegedly attempting to flee the country, and on November 1, she was re-arrested by EFCC officials while making another attempt to leave Nigeria.
In a recent TikTok live session, Bobrisky announced that she had relocated to an undisclosed country where she is “officially recognized as female and receives the respect I deserve.” She vowed never to return to Nigeria except for brief visits, adding, “Nothing will bring me back to Nigeria. I am never living in Nigeria. If I need to come to Nigeria, it will be visitation because this country suit me.”
