Video: Shock in Enugu as Soakaway Pits Filled with Human Remains Discovered in Native Doctor’s Home
A horrifying scene has emerged from Umuma Ndiagu in Ezeagu Local Government Area of Enugu State, where members of the community discovered human remains—reportedly including those of pregnant women and children—buried in soakaway pits within the compound of a native doctor identified only as Ezeani.
The shocking discovery was captured in a viral video circulating online, in which a visibly distraught local man narrated the events. According to him, the community had just rescued a 13-year-old child who was allegedly about to be used for ritual purposes. “We have caught the killers. They kill people. People’s dead bodies are full inside here. They have killed a lot of people,” he stated while pointing at the compound.
The property, described by residents as belonging to “Ojor,” reportedly served as the operational base for the alleged ritualist. A man apprehended at the scene claimed he was only a security guard instructed to ward off intruders but admitted he was also a frequent visitor for ritual activities. He denied involvement in the murders but confessed he was undergoing a ritual process and had been sent on errands as part of the initiation.
He named two other alleged accomplices—Okey from Orji River and a man called Chibuzor, whose origin he could not specify but said he would recognize if seen again. The suspect also identified the native doctor as “Daddy Ezeani” and confirmed he was in charge of the property.
The main suspect, Ezeani, is currently on the run. However, sources within the community revealed that his wives were apprehended, and enraged youths burned down his residence and vehicles in retaliation.
Efforts to obtain a statement from the Enugu State Police Command were unsuccessful. Multiple calls to the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Daniel Ndukwe, went unanswered, and a WhatsApp message sent to him remained without response as of the time of this report.
