Army Rescues 12 Kidnap Victims in Enugu
Troops from Operation Eastern Sanity successfully rescued twelve individuals kidnapped in Ette Community, Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area of Enugu State.
According to a military source, the operation began after residents alerted security forces to the abduction. Troops, working alongside police officers, forest guards, and members of the Neighbourhood Watch, quickly mobilized to the area.
“On reaching the scene, troops conducted coordinated search and patrol operations to locate the kidnappers and secure the victims’ release,” the source said.
Faced with the swift response and tactical advantage of the security forces, the kidnappers abandoned their captives and fled. The troops pursued the suspects while securing the area, ultimately rescuing all twelve victims unharmed. Two individuals linked to the kidnapping have been arrested and are undergoing interrogation to identify other members of the gang.
The military source emphasized that the operation underscores the ongoing commitment of security forces to safeguard lives, maintain public confidence, and strengthen security across the region.
