The Ondo State Police Command confirmed the deaths in a statement issued on Tuesday by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abayomi Jimoh.
According to the police, the first student, Adegbola Blessing, 19, was found unconscious in the pool at about 8:00 pm on January 29. He was pulled out by the pool manager, given first aid, and reportedly regained consciousness. Friends later took him home.

In the early hours of January 30, at about 7:00 am, Blessing was reported to have died.
The case has since been transferred to the command’s Monitoring Unit for further investigation.
The bodies of the two students have been deposited at the State Hospital, Ikare-Akoko morgue for autopsy. Police say inquiries are ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
