Trump Appoints Elise Stefanik as U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations
President-elect Donald Trump has named Rep. Elise Stefanik as the next U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations. In a statement, Trump praised Stefanik, calling her “strong,” “tough,” and a “smart fighter,” while underscoring her commitment to his “America First” agenda.
“I am honored to nominate Chairwoman Elise Stefanik to serve in my Cabinet as U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations. Elise is an incredibly strong, tough, and smart America First fighter,” Trump said.
Stefanik, who represents New York and serves as the House Republican Conference Chair, has long been a staunch ally of Trump. Her appointment comes shortly after Trump’s decisive victory over Vice President Kamala Harris, securing his return to the White House.
Additionally, Trump announced Susie Wiles, the manager of his successful campaign, as his new Chief of Staff, making her the first woman to hold the influential position.
