Troops Kill 8 Bandits in Fierce Katsina Clash, Soldier Injured – Nigerian Army
Troops of Operation Fasan Yanma have successfully neutralised eight bandits during a major offensive in Kurfi Local Government Area of Katsina State, the Nigerian Army announced on Wednesday.
The operation, which took place in the early hours along the Kurfi–Batsari axis — an area known for high levels of bandit activity — led to the recovery of weapons and various equipment from the assailants.
In an official statement, the army confirmed that one soldier sustained injuries during the encounter and is currently receiving medical care at the brigade hospital.
“Troops of Operation Fasan Yanma neutralized eight bandits in an offensive operation along the Kurfi–Batsari axis early this morning,” the statement read. “The bandits’ weapons and other equipment were recovered after the operation.”
The army further assured the public that the situation in the area remains calm and that troop morale and combat readiness remain high.
