Gunmen Attack Senator Natasha’s Home Again, Ritual Suspect Arrested as Others Flee
Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s family home in Ihima, Okehi Local Government Area of Kogi State came under attack once again on Tuesday night. The senator, who represents Kogi Central in the National Assembly, has faced a series of security threats in recent months.
According to a statement from her media office, armed men stormed the residence, vandalizing windows before being repelled by a combined response from local police, community vigilantes, and youths. One suspect was apprehended at the scene and identified as Suberu Jose, a native of the community and alleged ritualist reportedly linked to the senator’s political opposition. He confessed to taking part in three separate attacks on the property.
During the arrest, a cutlass and charms were recovered from the suspect. A mob attempted to assault him before security personnel intervened and took him into custody. Other attackers reportedly escaped with dangerous weapons and remain at large.
This is not the first time Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan’s family home has been targeted. A similar incident occurred on April 15, 2025, although no arrests were made at that time. The latest development marks the first breakthrough in the investigation of the ongoing attacks.
The senator’s media team described the repeated violence as calculated and politically motivated, especially given the timing. The Federal Government has recently filed two criminal charges against her after she publicly accused Senate President Godswill Akpabio of sexual harassment—a claim that led to her controversial six-month suspension from the Senate.
The statement urged the public to remain calm and called for justice, emphasizing that Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan’s dedication to her constituents and advocacy for truth should not be met with threats or violence.
