Popular Port Harcourt-Based Event Planner Allegedly Shot Dead by Gunmen
A Port Harcourt-based event planner, Mina Orupabo, has died after being attacked by armed men in Rivers State.
Orupabo, who led Special Bensington Ushers, was reportedly shot on Thursday evening, March 19, 2026, at about 8 p.m. The incident occurred around Total Gospel Road, off Peter Odili Road in Port Harcourt.
According to accounts, she was on her way to a venue for a pre-event inspection when the assailants opened fire. Her driver and another person who accompanied her were able to escape the scene.
She was taken to a hospital for treatment but later died on Saturday as a result of her injuries.
Authorities have not yet released details on the attackers, and the motive behind the incident remains unclear.
