Tribunal Dismisses Sani’s Petition
Attempts by a pro democracy activist and the Senator that represented Kaduna Central Senatorial district in the 8th National Assembly, Shehu Sani to return to the Senate on Wednesday suffered a setback after the Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Kaduna dismissed his petition for lack of merit.
The tribunal led by the chairman, Justice A.H Suleiman in a judgement that lasted for two hours upheld the victory of Senator Uba Sani, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the February 2019 National Assembly election in Kaduna state.
Sani who contested the election on the platform of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) had filed a petition at the tribunal challenging the victory of Uba Sani. He urged the tribunal to declare him the rightful winner of the election.
