Akwaibom Guber Poll: APC Chieftain Tells Tribunal that Party Lost Election Because they Relied on ‘Federal Might’
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Akwaibom state, Elder Enefiok Ekefre has told the Akwaibom Governorship Election Petition Tribunal that his party lost the 2019 gubernatorial election in the state because it relied solely on ‘Federal Might’ rather than focus on awareness campaigns.
Ekefre who appeared before the tribunal on Tuesday as witness said the gubernatorial election in the state was the most transparent and credible he has witnessed in his over 30 years in partisan politics.
He said,“As an experienced politician, I advised the party to embark on the grassroots campaign as that was the only way to dislodge PDP which has been in power for 20 years in the state, but the party ignored my advice and that was why we lost”.
The chieftain also said the election was devoid of violence and the staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) we’re transparent in the conduct of the election.
