Tinubu Visits Maiduguri, Pledges Federal Support for Flood Victims

 

 

President Bola Tinubu visited Maiduguri, Borno State’s capital, on Monday to offer his condolences and support following the recent devastating floods. Arriving at 3:40 p.m., he went directly to an emergency camp to meet with displaced individuals.

 

At the camp, President Tinubu reassured the victims of the federal government’s commitment to aiding their recovery. “I want to assure you that we are going to support you. We will support you. God Bless you,” Tinubu stated.

 

The President’s delegation included Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Minister of Agriculture Abubakar Kyari, and other key aides. The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, who had arrived earlier to inspect police facilities affected by the flood, was present at the Maiduguri Air Force Base to welcome the President.

 

Also in attendance at the Air Force Base were Abdulrahman Abdulrazak, Chairman of the Governors’ Forum, Bala Mohammed, Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party Governors’ Forum, and the governors of Kogi and Sokoto states, Ahmed Ododo and Ahmed Aliyu, respectively.
