Kaduna: 35 Dead in Fatal Road Accident Ahead of Maulud Celebration
In a devastating accident near Samunaka of Lere Local Government Area of Kaduna State, at least 35 people lost their lives after a J5 bus collided head-on with an articulated vehicle. The victims, all Muslims, were reportedly traveling to participate in Maulud celebrations.
Malam Abdullahi, one of the event organizers, expressed his grief over the incident. “We had around 70 people in our group, including women and children. I personally counted the victims. It was a heartbreaking scene,” he said.
Over 35 others, who sustained injuries in the crash, have been rushed to Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH) in neighboring Plateau State for urgent medical attention.
In addition to the tragic collision, another vehicle in the convoy was involved in a separate accident with a motorcycle, resulting in more casualties and injuries.
