“This is My First Time”: Man Arrested by Hisbah Police for Licking Goat’s Genitals in Viral Video Confesses
In an update to the earlier reported incident, Shamsu Yakubu, the 24-year-old man arrested by the Kano State Hisbah Board for allegedly performing a lewd act with a goat, has confessed to the offence during interrogation. The suspect, whose video went viral on TikTok, admitted to the act, stating it was his first time and that he was seeking social media fame.
The video, which sparked widespread outrage, showed Yakubu allegedly licking a goat’s genitals while instructing someone to film him. The disturbing footage quickly spread across social media platforms, with many condemning the act as both immoral and deeply offensive.
Speaking during questioning by Hisbah officials, Yakubu initially denied the full extent of the act but later confessed. “I swear to Allah, I did not lick the goat’s genitals. I only put my mouth around the area,” he said. He then added, “This is my first time. I am in my right senses. I will never repeat this again.”
The Deputy Commander-General of the Hisbah Board, Sheikh Aminuddeen Abubakar, confirmed the confession and reiterated the board’s stance on immoral behaviour. He condemned the act as disgraceful and a clear violation of religious and cultural values. “It is deeply troubling that a young man would degrade himself in such a way, all in the name of chasing social media attention,” Sheikh Aminuddeen said.
He also confirmed that Yakubu is undergoing psychiatric and drug evaluations to determine his mental state. Additionally, Hisbah officials have taken steps to ensure the goat involved is examined at a veterinary clinic to rule out any infections that may have resulted from the incident.
Authorities stressed that the investigation is ongoing and that prosecution will follow after medical assessments are completed. Sheikh Aminuddeen issued a strong warning to others who might consider similar acts for online attention, saying, “Anyone caught engaging in shameful behaviour for social media clout will be arrested and severely punished.”
